Asher (0-5) pitched well Thursday in Miami, as he allowed just one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four in seven innings, but took another loss.
Asher's managed to take the loss in all five of his starts in the majors this year, but where the other ones were ugly efforts, this was quite a solid outing, albeit against a bit of a piecemeal Marlins offense. Unfortunately, six Marlins pitchers combined to shut out the Philadelphia offense. But hey, the Phillies will take the positives where they can find them at this point, considering the trials and tribulations of their pitching staff this year. Asher is scheduled to make his next -- and possibly final -- start against the Mets on Wednesday.

Asher allowed four runs on seven hits over five innings in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals. He struck out four and walked one.
Asher has lost all four of his starts since his promotion from Triple-A. He has a 9.78 ERA and an 11:7 K:BB ratio in 19.1 inning. He will likely stay in the rotation for the remainder of the year despite the poor results because the Phillies lack other options.
Tue Sep 15 201522:05Asher's next start moved up to Wednesday against Nationals
Asher's next start has been moved up to Wednesday against the Nationals, the Morning Call's Stephen Gross reports.
This is a minor tweak, as Adam Morgan, the originally scheduled starter for Wednesday's game, will instead pitch Friday against the Braves. Neither pitcher is very intriguing for fantasy purposes.

Asher (0-3) allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks across five innings in a loss to the Cubs. He struck out just two.
Asher really struggled in this games as he allowed three home runs and drew only five called strikes. Clearly, he wasn't fooling Cubs hitters and it will be tough for him to do anything on such a poor team. Asher is simply a young arm that the Phillies want to get some starts to, to see what they are dealing with. Asher's next start is scheduled for next Friday against a much easier offense in Atlanta.

Asher was hammered Saturday, giving up seven runs on eight hits and two walks over 3.2 innings while striking out two.
His first two big league starts have gone very poorly, and Asher now has a 10.61 ERA and 2.04 WHIP. The Phillies will likely continue to let him sink or swim though, with his next outing coming Thursday at home against the Cubs.

Asher allowed four runs on eight hits over 5.2 innings in his major league debut Sunday. He struck out three and walked one.
Asher gave up home runs to Matt Kemp and Justin Upton in the loss. Outside of those two mistakes, he pitched fairly well. He had a stretch between the second and sixth innings where he retired 12 of the 14 batters he faced. Asher will make his next start against the Red Sox.

The Phillies promoted Asher from Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Saturday's game.
Asher will start for the Phillies on Sunday against the Padres. He was 2-0 with a 2.08 ERA in four starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley since being acquired in the Cole Hamels trade. Asher is not a high strikeout pitcher and instead focuses more on pitching to contact. He has a low-to-mid-90s fastball that he compliments with a slider, changeup and curve.
Fri Aug 28 201517:48Asher will be recalled to start Sunday's game against Padres
Asher will be recalled to start Sunday's game against the Padres, Stephen Gross of The Morning Call reports.
Asher was sent to the Phillies as part of the deal that saw former ace Cole Hamels shipped to the Rangers. While he struggled in his time with Triple-A Round Rock earlier in the season, he's fared much since his move to Triple-A Lehigh Valley (2.08 ERA, 1.15 WHIP with 12 strikeouts in 26 innings). He'll get his first chance to display his stuff at the major league level Sunday.

Asher was officially traded to the Phillies on Friday as part of the deal that will send Cole Hamels to the Rangers, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The 23-year-old Asher has had a tough go at Triple-A Round Rock this season, producing a 4.73 ERA (6.02 FIP) over 64.2 innings. He probably has the lowest upside of the five prospects the Phillies received back in the Hamels deal, but perhaps a fresh start in a new organization (or an eventual move to the bullpen) may allow him to emerge as a useful piece in time.

Asher, 23, has a 3.69 ERA and 31:12 K:BB ratio through 31.2 innings for Double-A Frisco.
Asher has been a tad wild to begin the 2015 campaign; he walked just 32 batters in 154 innings at the same level last season. Still, his strikeout rate has improved thus far in his second go-round at Double-A.
