Dickerson is hoping to fit into the Pirates' right field picture with his .355 average this spring. He's not going to hit for average in the regular season, but he does offer enough power, speed and defense to contribute as a part-timer. Still, it remains to be seen if the Pirates will carve out a role for him.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has retracted an earlier report stating that the Phillies were close to acquiring Chris Dickerson from the Orioles.
Heyman retracted the report after Phillies GM Ruben Amaro denied it. It's not clear if the Phils aren't interested in Dickerson at all or are and just aren't close to a deal. Either way, he's drawing some interest from a few teams and should be dealt soon.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Phillies are close to acquiring Chris Dickerson from the Orioles.
Dickerson had been designated for assignment by the O's last week. He was batting just .245/.274/.412 in 106 plate appearances for Baltimore before being cut loose but could see ample playing time in center field for the Phillies while Ben Revere is out.

Dickerson was the hero on May 31, hitting a three-run walkoff homer against the Tigers. However, since that day, he's 5-for-31 with no RBI and 15 strikeouts. The opportunity was there for him to earn a platoon job against righties, but he's on the verge of blowing it.

Chris Dickerson delivered a walk-off three-run homer in Friday's 7-5 win over the Tigers.
Dickerson has been dealing with a sore wrist recently, so he was making his first start since May 23. He made it back at just the right time for the Orioles, taking Jose Valverde deep with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to win it. It was his fourth home run of the season and his first career walk-off.

Chris Dickerson had an infield single and a pair of solo homers in Tuesday's win over the Yankees.
Phil Hughes was the victim of both bombs, serving up the dingers in the third and fifth innings. Dickerson and Nate McLouth were the offensive heroes for the O's, as McLouth slugged a walk-off solo shot in the 10th to break the team's six-game losing streak. Dickerson has seen a little more playing time of late and is now batting .371 over 15 games.
