LHP Madison Bumgarner will take part in the pregame player introductions Tuesday at the All-Star Game but will be ineligible to pitch because he started Sunday.

LHP Madison Bumgarner will start Sunday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks instead of pitching in the All-Star Game, Giants manager Bruce Bochy has decided. Bochy used the same strategy in 2014, starting Bumgarner in the final game of the first half and then in the Giants' first game of the second half. Bumgarner is 8-7 with a 2.54 ERA in 23 career starts against Arizona.

Bumgarner will take a 4-2 record to the mound Wednesday.
