Mon Aug 10 201515:27Paulsen not in lineup Monday against Mets
Paulsen is not in the lineup Monday against the Mets.
Paulsen has emerged as the near-everyday first baseman over the last few weeks, but he'll get the day off Monday as Kyle Parker will enter the lineup in his place.
Wed Aug 5 201522:59Paulsen 3-5 with RBI and run scored, Wednesday against Mariners
Paulsen went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Wednesday against the Mariners.
Paulsen's 11th inning single started the rally that ended with Michael McHenry driving the first basemen in on a walk-off homer. It's sure looking like he's starting to heat up, as he's off to a fast start in August with a 1.125 OPS.
Tue Aug 4 201516:53Paulsen not in lineup Tuesday against Seattle
Paulsen is not in the lineup Tuesday against Seattle, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.
Paulsen will get the day off against left-hander Vidal Nuno, as Kyle Parker slides over from left field to man first base.

Paulsen went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Monday's 8-7 loss to the Mariners.
Paulsen has reached base safely in 11 consecutive games, during which he's recorded three doubles, a triple, three homers, and 12 RBI. With the Rockies recently demoting Wilin Rosario back to Triple-A Albuquerque, it looks like Paulsen will be the team's everyday option at first base, even against left-handed pitching.

Paulsen had a big game Saturday in St. Louis, going 2-for-5 with a double, a homer and three RBI.
Paulsen had clearly missed Coors Field of late, as he came in with just one RBI and no extra-base hits on the first five games of the team's current road trip. He managed to snap out of the funk with a 440-foot no-doubter in the sixth inning, then drove in two more runs on a seventh-inning double. The first baseman's platoon-mate, Wilin Rosario, was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, so Paulsen will have a chance to prove that he can maintain his .289/.346/.503 line playing in a full-time role.

Paulsen homered twice and drove in four runs in Sunday's 17-7 rout over the Reds.
Paulsen finished a double shy of the cycle on the afternoon, with his three extra-base hits exceeding his output from the previous 26 games combined. On the whole, Paulsen has generally been a competent power source for the Rockies with seven homers, nine doubles, and three triples across 181 plate appearances this season, making him a more-than-suitable replacement while Justin Morneau (neck/concussion) has spent extensive time on the DL.
Tue Jul 21 201516:38Paulsen not in lineup for Tuesday's game against Rangers
Paulsen is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.
Wilin Rosario will take over at first base with left-hander Matt Harrison on the hill for Texas. After hitting five homers in his first 23 games with the big club this season, Paulsen has gone homerless in his last 30 games, with just five extra-base hits (four doubles) over that span.

Paulsen went 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBI in Monday's 8-7 win over the Rangers.
Paulsen delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to plate the game's final run, redeeming himself from an earlier defensive gaffe in the process. With two runners on base and one out in the fifth inning, Paulsen fielded a grounder by Prince Fielder and stepped on first base for what he thought was the third out. Paulsen realized his mistake too late as he retreated to the Rockies' dugout, as both of the attentive Rangers baserunners came around to score. The Rockies will likely forgive Paulsen for what he described as a "bonehead play," as his left-handedness should enable to receive the lion's share of the at-bats at first base over the righty-swinging Wilin Rosario.
Fri Jul 3 201518:59Paulsen out of lineup Friday against Diamondbacks
Paulsen is out of the lineup Friday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Paulsen had found himself in the lineup in the Rockies' previous four games, though the fact that the team had the DH spot available for the three of the contests might have had something to do with it. It appeared that Paulsen had a handle on the larger share of platoon duties at first base with Wilin Rosario, but the lefty-hitting Paulsen will find himself on the bench even though the matchup against righty Chase Anderson would seem to favor him. Don't interpret it just yet as a sign that Rosario has emerged as manager Walt Weiss' preferred option, as the situation has been rather fluid throughout the duration of Justin Morneau's absence due to a neck injury.
Sun Jun 28 201514:15Paulsen remains out of lineup Sunday against Giants
Paulsen remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Giants.
The Rockies will shelter Paulsen from ace lefty Madison Bumgarner, opting instead to go with right-handed heavy lineup. Wilin Rosario will take over at first base for the second straight game while Paulsen heads to the bench.
Sat Jun 27 201516:08Paulsen out of Saturday's lineup against Giants
Paulsen is out of Saturday's lineup against the Giants.
Paulsen will sit in favor of Wilin Rosario on Saturday after picking up three hits in five at-bats Friday and knocking home two baserunners. He continues to serve as the everyday first baseman, however, and will likely rejoin the lineup Sunday.
Sat Jun 27 201510:08Paulsen 3-5 with pair of RBI in Friday's win over Giants
Paulsen went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in Friday's win over the Giants.
As he showed Friday, Paulsen isn't a mere byproduct of playing in the thin air of Colorado, as he sprayed the ball all over AT&T Park, one of the more challenging hitting environments in the majors. Paulsen is slashing .296/.367/.549 at Coors Field versus a comparable .289/.325/.500 on the road, which should continue to earn him a lineup spot until the duo of Justin Morneau (concussion) and Corey Dickerson (foot) return from the DL.
Wed Jun 17 201517:47Paulsen not in lineup for Wednesday's game against Astros
Paulsen is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.
With the Astros trotting out another southpaw in Brett Oberholtzer, Paulsen will head to the bench in favor of Wilin Rosario for the second time in the series. Reports out of Colorado suggest Justin Morneau (concussion) has made limited progress, so it seems Paulsen and Rosario will continue to platoon at first base for the foreseeable future.
Mon Jun 15 201517:20Paulsen out of lineup against Astros on Monday
Paulsen is out of the lineup against the Astros on Monday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Paulsen has been splitting time at first base with Wilson Rosario during the continued absence of Justin Morneau (concussion) and Rosario has been placed in the starting lineup for Monday. However, Paulsen is available to pinch hit off the bench.
Wed Jun 10 201518:26Paulsen entered Wednesday's game in place of injured Brandon Bar...
Paulsen entered Wednesday's game in place of the injured Brandon Barnes (ankle) and hit a two-run homer in his lone at-bat.
The long ball off Cardinals starter Carlos Martinez represented all the Rockies' offense on a quiet day at Coors Field. Paulsen's been seeing sporadic playing time lately despite the fact that his bat really hasn't slowed down -- he still owns a ridiculous .333/.389/.667 line in just 66 at-bats. If Barnes' injury lingers, Paulsen could see a boost in playing time.
Wed Jun 10 201512:57Paulsen out of lineup Wednesday
Paulsen is out of the lineup Wednesday, the Denver Post's Nick Groke reports.
Paulsen and Wilin Rosario continue to split time at first base with Justin Morneau (concussion) out, and the latter will get the start Wednesday.
Tue Jun 9 201513:31Paulsen 3-5 in Monday's win over Rockies, finishing home run shy...
Paulsen went 3-for-5 in Monday's win over the Rockies, finishing a home run shy of the cycle while coming around to score all three times he reached base.
After sitting out the past two games to make way for Wilin Rosario at first base, Paulsen reentered the lineup with a right-hander on the mound in John Lackey. As the left-handed batter, Paulsen figures to occupy the larger half of the timeshare at first base until Justin Morneau returns, and carries of plenty of fantasy intrigue while he retains that role. He's slashing a magnificent .339/.388/.645 with four homers, nine RBI, and 12 runs over 67 plate appearances.
Sun Jun 7 201514:37Paulsen out of lineup Sunday against Marlins
Paulsen is out of the lineup Sunday against the Marlins, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
Paulsen will find himself on the bench for a second straight game as manager Walt Weiss looks to ride the hot bat of Wilin Rosario, who homered twice Saturday. Rosario has historically struggled against right-handers, so if he reverts back to form Sunday against Marlins starter Jose Urena, look for Paulsen to quickly reclaim the larger portion of the timeshare at first base when the Rockies kick off their series with the Cardinals on Monday.
Sat Jun 6 201513:05Paulsen not in lineup for Saturday's game against Marlins
Paulsen is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Paulsen will turn first base over to Wilin Rosario after starting four consecutive games. In addition to impressive power numbers (four homers, .291 ISO), Paulsen has also displayed much-improved plate discipline in his time with Colorado this season (60 PA), striking out at just a 16.7 percent clip while walking 8.3 percent of the time.
Wed Jun 3 201510:52Paulsen 3-8 with home run, double, and three runs scored across ...
Paulsen went 3-for-8 with a home run, double, and three runs scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader with the Dodgers.
Paulsen was held out of the lineup for Monday's series opener due to a migraine, but the issue is obviously no longer a concern, as he played all 18 innings Tuesday. The 27-year-old has probably earned a permanent stay with the Rockies even after Justin Morneau (concussion) returns from the DL, as he's sitting on a career line of .333/.378/.622 across 119 plate appearances.
