Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud (forearm) remains out of the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics. d'Arnaud will miss his second straight game due to a sore forearm, but the injury isn't considered to be very serious. The 33-year-old has a good chance to get back in there by the weekend. He's hitting .250/.288/.432 with six home runs, 23 RBI and 19 runs scored for Atlanta in 156 plate appearances over 38 games. William Contreras is behind the dish and is hitting sixth on Wednesday against A's left-hander Jared Koenig. Contreras will be making his fourth straight start and has gone 23-for-75 with seven home runs, 15 RBI and a stolen base in just 23 games for the Braves. Keep riding him in DFS.

Fri Jun 3 202200:23Travis d'Arnaud Collects Six RBI Thursday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud had a terrific night at the plate on Thursday as he launched a pair of homers in a 13-6 win over the Rockies. The veteran backstop took Austin Gomber deep for a two-run bomb in the third, and then followed that up with a grand slam off Gomber again in the fifth inning to finish the game going 3-for-5 with three runs and six RBI. D'Arnaud is now slashing a sturdy .262/.293/.454 with six homers, 19 runs, and 23 RBI through 36 games to give him one of the better fantasy lines for a catcher in the majors this season.

Tue May 3 202201:00Travis d'Arnaud Stays Hot At Plate Monday, Plates Three
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud continued his hot start to the season in Monday's 5-2 win over the Mets, going 3-for-4 with a single, two doubles, and three RBI. The veteran has gotten off to a hot start after a disappointing 2021 season and is now slashing .333/.354/.508 with two home runs and 11 RBI. Catcher is always a shallow fantasy position, and d'Arnaud could find himself in the higher ranks of it early if he can continue to produce in the Braves' strong lineup.

Wed Apr 20 202214:34Travis d'Arnaud Not In Wednesday's Lineup
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud isn't in the lineup on Wednesday for a matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Tony Gonsolin. The 33-year-old is batting .297 with a .316 on-base percentage and a pair of home runs in 38 plate appearances this season. Instead, it'll be Manny Pina starting at catcher and hitting eighth against Gonsolin and the Dodgers. Pina has a hit in 10 plate appearances so far this season. You're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming options at catcher on Wednesday.

Sat Apr 16 202213:31Travis d'Arnaud Sitting Out On Saturday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud (rest) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Diego Padres. The 33-year-old has been hitting well this season, so this appears to be a routine day off. Veteran catcher Manny Pina will draw the start behind the plate and bat ninth versus right-hander Nick Martinez. Fantasy managers should be able to find better streaming options than Pina for Saturday's slate.

Sat Apr 9 202218:52Travis d'Arnaud Not Starting Saturday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds, according to MLB.com. William Contreras will be behind the plate and batting ninth. Contreras hasn't gotten many opportunities in his young career, playing just 56 games across two seasons thus far. He's slashed .225/.308/.405 with eight home runs over that time. However, he's shown power in the minor leagues, slugging .516 with nine home runs in just 44 games in Triple-A a year ago. The backstop is slashing .218/.283/.397 with seven home runs in 49 games this season. He's been a bit better since coming back from the injured list on August 11, slugging .446 with a .217 average in 26 games. William Contreras will take over behind the plate and bat eighth. His rookie season hasn't gone as planned, as he's put up a .653 OPS across 47 games. He should be left on the waiver wire in favor of a better catcher.

Sat Sep 18 202110:34Travis d'Arnaud Hits Go-Ahead Blast
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud looked like he was going to be the hero during Friday's game against the San Francisco Giants. He blasted a three-run go-ahead home run in the ninth inning off righty Tyler Rogers. It was his lone hit of the game, but obviously an important one. He finished the day 1-for-4 and the Braves ended up dropping the game 6-5. Nonetheless, d'Arnaud will take a .228/.290/.413 slash line with seven homers and 25 RBI into his next contest. He isn't a great fantasy option right now and probably shouldn't be trusted on a daily basis.

Thu Sep 16 202110:45Travis d'Arnaud Sitting Out During Thursday's Contest
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud will not be in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He went 0-for-5 during Wednesday's contest, so the Braves will give him the day off. Despite that performance, d'Arnaud has been fairly reliable at the plate since returning in August. William Contreras will start at catcher and hit eighth versus righty German Marquez on Thursday. DFS players can avoid this matchup since this isn't a favorable situation for Contreras.

Sat Aug 21 202100:19Travis d'Arnaud Leads The Charge On Friday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud is having a fantastic Friday considering the events that have happened. First off, he signed a two-year extension worth $16 million. Then he went deep later in the day against the Baltimore Orioles. He would finish 2-for-3 at the plate with an important two-run home run in the 3-0 victory. After that performance, d'Arnaud is hitting .236/.293/.406 with four long balls and 17 RBI in 29 games this season. At first glance, d'Arnaud might not be the best option at catcher, but he is heating up at the plate and could be an asset for fantasy managers in need of a catcher.

Fri Aug 20 202113:03Travis d'Arnaud Extended Friday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud has signed a two-year contract extension with a third-year option on Friday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. d'Arnaud was due for free agency at this season's end prior to the new contract. He's been one of the best offensive catchers in baseball the past few years but has taken a bit of a step backward this season. He's slashing .223/.277/.369 with three home runs across just 28 games. However, since returning from the injured list on August 11, he's slugging .476. Fantasy managers should continue starting d'Arnaud in hopes that he can stay hot.

Tue Aug 17 202116:06Travis d'Arnaud Sitting Tuesday
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Stephen Vogt will do the catching and bat eighth in his place. This is the third time in six games that d'Arnaud is on the bench, as it is likely that manager Brian Snitker wants to keep his backstop fresh after missing over three months while on the injured list. He's having a down season, hitting .230 with three home runs, 14 RBI, and seven runs in 27 games. Although, since returning from the IL on August 11, he's hitting .278 with a .906 OPS. If d'Arnaud can keep that up, he will continue to be one of the best hitting catchers in baseball.

Tue Aug 17 202111:04Travis d'Arnaud Doubles Twice In Victory
Atlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud has been heating up with the bat since his return from the injured list. On Monday, d'Arnaud went 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and a walk in the 12-2 win over the Miami Marlins. It's going to take time for d'Arnaud to get completely back into the groove of things. However, this was a sign in the right direction with a nice two-hit performance. Fantasy managers in need of help at catcher should check and see if d'Arnaud is still somehow available on the waiver wire.
