NEW YORK -- Tuesday's game between the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees was postponed due to heavy rain at Yankee Stadium.The game will be made up as a regular doubleheader on Wednesday, starting at 1:10 p.m. EST.The original pitching matchup for Tuesday was Trevor Bauer for Cleveland against Jaime Garcia. That will be the matchup for the opener but the nightcap will feature Ryan Merritt for the Indians against Jordan Montgomery as the Yankees decided to push CC Sabathia back to face the Boston Red Sox on Thursday.Wednesday will be New York's third doubleheader of the season. The Yankees split doubleheaders May 14 at Yankee Stadium against the Houston Astros and July 16 at Fenway Park against the Red Sox.Cleveland opened the series with a 6-2 victory as Corey Kluber bested Luis Severino and Jose Ramirez homered twice.Slugger Aaron Judge did not play Monday as the Yankees are giving him some time off to refresh. Judge also was not in the lineup for Tuesday's postponement but likely will play Wednesday.Judge is second in the majors with 37 homers but is 1-for-12 on the homestand and has two hits in his last 18 at-bats. The right fielder batted .329 with 30 homers and 66 RBIs in his first 84 games, but since the All-Star break Judge is hitting .179 (26-for-145) with seven homers, 16 RBIs and 65 strikeouts.NOTES: Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he did not hear anything about the appeals of the four-game suspension for C Gary Sanchez and the two-game ban for C Austin Romine. They were suspended Friday following Thursday's brawl in Detroit. ... Cleveland RHP Dan Otero will go on the paternity list while RHP Shawn Armstrong will be the 26th man.
