Souza limped off the field, accompanied by a trainer and manager Kevin Cash.Souza is batting .271 with 60 RBIs this season.

"There's really no other way to describe it other than it was an awesome feeling," Peterson said. "It's something in your career, playing baseball, playing any sport, winning's the most important thing, and when you as an individual get an opportunity to help your team win in a big situation and the rest of the team feels it, they feed off it, you just continue to take it in and hopefully get more opportunities like that." Peterson, who was recalled from Triple-A Durham on June 23, has five doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in just 69 at-bats. "I've been in spots that have been big," Peterson said. "We've been winning, which is another huge thing, and I've been fortunate to have the opportunity up here to be playing."

Peterson hasn't played all that much since returning from his injury last Friday, so his status Thursday shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Michael Reed will get his first career start in right field with Domingo Santana once again manning center field.

Peterson was held out of the lineup seven games in a row after a scary collision with Elian Herrera, though he was able to serve as a pinch-hitter in that span. He'll return to the lineup Friday, manning right field and batting fifth.

Logan Schafer has taken over in his place, recording four hits, including a home run, in 10 at-bats --- numbers that could give him a chance to compete with Peterson for playing time in center field if/when he returns from injury.

It will be the fourth straight game that Peterson is not in the starting lineup, but he was able to enter Sunday's game and ended the day 0-for-2 with a walk. Peterson wouldn't necessarily be receiving regular starts anyway, so it's possible given Sunday's appearance that the knee issue is mostly behind him.

Peterson (knee) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Reds, but he is available to pinch hit, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Peterson isn't necessarily an everyday option in the outfield anyway, but the added knee injury will keep him to pinch hitting duties Sunday. The Brewers will instead go with an alignment of Jason Rogers, Logan Schafer and Domingo Santana in the outfield instead.

Peterson is suffering from a bruised knee and has at least one laceration on his arm stemming from Saturday's collision with Elian Herrera, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Following up on a previous report, Peterson smashed into Elian Herrera as the two players were attempting to track down a bloop fly ball towards left field. Peterson collided with Herrera, injuring both players' knees in the process. During the collision, Herrera's spikes scraped Peterson's arm, causing the laceration. While neither injury appears to be too serious, it's unclear how long Peterson might be sidelined.

Peterson was removed from Saturday's game after colliding with Elian Herrera while both players were trying to chase down a bloop fly ball near left field, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Peterson appeared to deal the grunt of the blow as his knee collided with Herrera's, prompting Herrera to be removed from the game by an ambulance cart. The Brewers also lost Khris Davis earlier in the game with a twisted ankle which meant Jason Rogers had to replace Peterson in left field.

Peterson is out of Monday's lineup against the Marlins.

He started the previous two games against the Reds, but will sit in favor of Domingo Santana who will get the start in center field and bat sixth in the order.
